Meet the Doctors

Abha Amin, M.D.

Originally from Long Island, Abha Amin began her academic career at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Abha Amin received her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Graduate Hospital (University of Pennsylvania affiliate). She was a resident in Ophthalmology at Strong Memorial Hospital (University of Rochester, NY) before completing a fellowship in Glaucoma at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (Harvard University). This was followed by a second fellowship year in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary under the tutelage of a pioneer in refractive surgery.

Dr. Amin was appointed to the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at New York Medical College in 1998. In 1999, she was appointed to the post of Assistant Attending Surgeon at the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. Dr. Amin is a member of the trauma service as well as a Resident instructor at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary teaching resident physicians cataract, glaucoma, and cornea transplantation surgery. Dr. Amin is also director of Comprehensive Ophthalmology at Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan.

Dr. Amin has been board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology since 1997. She has also written multiple chapters and articles in well-respected ophthalmology textbooks and journals. She has also lectured on various subjects in ophthalmology in the New York City area.
