Anna Allen, M.D. Ph.D.

Dr. Anna Allen is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who provides our pediatric and adult patients with the highest quality of eye care.  She strives to treat her patients in a personal yet professional manner, meeting the individual needs of her patients with dedication, expertise, and integrity.  As a comprehensive Ophthalmologist, she manages a variety of eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, pediatric eye conditions and eyelid problems.   Dr. Allen is an attending Ophthalmologist at Albany Medical Center and Albany Memorial Hospital.  She is proficient in a variety of advanced surgical techniques to treat adult and pediatric eye conditions.  Dr. Allen performs surgeries primarily at Albany Regional Eye Surgery Center in Latham, however depending on specifics of the case some surgeries are performed at Albany Medical Center and Albany Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Allen graduated with honors from Kharkov State University and then completed her PhD program in Neurobiology and Anatomy at the University of Rochester.  Following this, she graduated Cum Laude from Downstate Medical Center and completed residency training in Ophthalmology at Albany Medical Center.

Doctor Anna Allen is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Albany Medical Center and she teaches residents cataract and laser surgery as well as the art of Ophthalmology at Stratton VA Medical Center.  Her research interests include resident cataract surgery education.  She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New York State Ophthalmological Society.
